Treat your imperfect self with kindness. Be kind to yourself. The meaning of life is the journey from imperfection to perfection. However, this process cannot be completed in one lifetime. We need to follow the sages from life to life to gradually achieve it.
Fully accept yourself as you are now. Don’t fight with yourself. Don’t indulge but stay vigilant. Don’t muddle along but keep striving. Don’t dwell on self-pity but stay clear-minded. Don’t blame yourself but stay tolerant. Don’t be weak but be strong. Don’t feel inferior but be confident. Know that you are imperfect, and know where you are wrong. Then cooperate with yourself to make corrections and slowly improve. During meditation, say the following words to yourself and feel them with your heart: May I be relaxed and calm, eliminating tension and anxiety. May I be soft and joyful, eliminating stubbornness and worries. May I be kind and friendly, eliminating indifference and enmity. May I be humble and rational, eliminating arrogance and ignorance. May I be friendly and kind, eliminating hostility and apathy. May I be content and generous, eliminating greed and stinginess. May I be patient and peaceful, eliminating hatred and fear. May I be happy for others with equanimity, eliminating jealousy and self-love.
